2018 Christmas School Holiday Program
Glen Bowe has been coaching the PDHPE support class for the last 9 weeks. Glen has been chosen as the Special Olympic Queensland Tennis Coach for the National Championships in April 2018 and we have been very privileged to have Glen guide us in developing our tennis skills. Glen has identified some great talent in our support class while coaching inclusively. Our class has enjoyed individual and diverse levels of success with Glen as our coach. From simply balancing a ball on a tennis racquet to hitting a ball across the net or even just being able to have a racquet make contact with a tennis ball, Glen had the knack to encourage perseverance and develop confidence in our students at Mullumbimby High School. Using fun games and encouraging tennis etiquette, Glen developed great sportsmanship and teamwork. Every Monday morning, the Mullumbimby High PDHPE support class knew that they could “play better with a smile” (our favourite saying).
Head Teacher Special Education Teacher
Glen drives down weekly to the Ocean Shores tennis courts to coach our son. His inspired coaching has seen our son progress to becoming a member of the Gold Coast Special Olympics team and even vying for a place on the Australian Team. Thank you for making this possible.
Glen is a highly enthusiastic coach that really knows how to get kids with disabilities to love tennis. He has inspired our son and has moved him ahead in leaps and bounds after long period of flat lining under main stream coaches.

We were recommended to contact Glen through our early Intervention centre as he specialises in coaching tennis to children with special needs. Tennis was my family sport growing up and I knew the physical, sensory, social and educational aspects of the sport would benefit my son who is on the Autism Spectrum. I wasn’t sure, however, how my son would respond to tennis but I thought we should give it a go. To my excitement, he wanted to attend every week… woohoo!! Not only did Glen coach our son who is on the spectrum but he also coached his little brother who initially went along for moral support. Both boys progressed after the first few sessions and the bond between Glen and them was infectious. Glen has a fun and compassionate personality and incorporates that into every lesson. We couldn’t be happier with Glen’s coaching style and felt that we all gained a friend and an amazing coach. Glen is highly recommended by us!
